Get hands-on and make something beautiful in one of London's most magical historic locations. Join us in the heart of the City of London for a fun, relaxed, and highly creative Jesmonite eco resin terrazzo workshop.

Our sessions are held inside the iconic Leadenhall Market—one of London's most iconic historic filming locations

No prior crafting experience is needed. Just bring your enthusiasm, unleash your inner designer, and prepare to make a truly one-of-a-kind home decor piece.

The Venue: Historic Leadenhall Market

Step into one of London's most breathtaking and historic covered landmarks, originally built in 1881. Boasting stunning Victorian architecture, ornate painted ceilings, and cobblestone floors, Leadenhall Market offers an unforgettable creative atmosphere.

Getting To Leadenhall Market:

What is Jesmonite & Eco Resin?

Jesmonite AC100 is a premium, water-based, eco-friendly composite material. It beautifully mimics the look and weighted feel of natural stone or concrete, but is much lighter, completely safe to work with, and far kinder to the planet.

In our craft classes, we combine sustainable Jesmonite with the trending terrazzo design technique. You will learn how to embed vibrant, colorful chips into your mix and sand them down to reveal stunning, speckled, marble-like finishes. Because you mix the colors yourself, no two pieces ever look the same—your finished craft will be entirely unique to you!

BYOB

You are more than welcome to bring a favorite drink along to enjoy while you create—this is a BYOB craft workshop!To keep our making environment safe and comfortable for everyone, this is strictly limited to one drink per person. 🥂

WHAT TO WEAR

While protective aprons are provided on the day, Jesmonite crafting can get wonderfully messy when mixing and sanding! Please wear comfortable clothing that you wouldn't mind getting a little bit of pigment or dust on. We highly recommend leaving your favorite dry-clean-only pieces safely at home. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Who is this workshop suitable for? This workshop is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over. No previous experience or artistic ability is required — just come with an open mind and a willingness to get creative!

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement? The minimum age for this workshop is 16 years old. Participants aged 16–17 are very welcome but must be accompanied by at least one participating adult throughout the session.

Q: Do I need any experience? Absolutely not! This workshop is designed for complete beginners. Our instructor will guide you through every step from start to finish.

Q: What will I make? You will create your very own handcrafted Jesmonite eco resin tray, or pen pot using the stunning terrazzo technique. Every piece is unique — no two will ever look the same!

Q: How long is the workshop? The standard workshop runs for 2 hours, with a 3-hour option also available for a group session. Please get in touch at info@althackney.com to discuss your event.

Q: What should I wear? Aprons are provided, but please wear clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. Jesmonite workshops can get creative and we'd hate for your favourite outfit to suffer — so leave the dry-clean-only pieces at home! 

Q: Can I book for a group, hen night or corporate event? Absolutely! We love group bookings. We cater for hen nights, birthday celebrations, corporate team events and private group bookings. Please get in touch at info@althackney.com to discuss your event.

Q: Can I request a specific colour or design? We provide a selection of colours and terrazzo chips on the day for you to choose from and personalise your piece. If you have a specific colour request for a group booking (minimum 6 people) , please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q: Will my finished piece be ready to take home on the day? Yes! Your finished tray, pen pot or festive ornament will be ready to take home at the end of the session. 🎨

Q: How many people can attend in one session? Sessions are kept intentionally small with a maximum of 8 people per workshop to ensure everyone receives personal attention and guidance throughout.
